Our Process Technologies division offers a full range of catalysts and technology for the production of syngas, also known as synthesis gas. This includes the market leading KATALCOJM and PURASPECJM catalyst ranges together with licensed process technology.

Our catalysts and absorbents are used in the production of:

  • Ammonia
  • Methanol
  • Hydrogen
  • Substitute natural gas (SNG)
  • Gas to liquids (GTL).

Our heritage in the production of syngas dates back to the 1930s when the first steam reformers were built to make syngas by catalytic steam reforming.

Within the methanol industry, we have led the way in methanol technology for over 50 years. Our people developed the Low Pressure Methanol (LPM) process which is the world's most widely used process. Such technology has been used to build the largest single stream methanol plant in the world. Our catalysts are used in the world's largest single stream ammonia, methanol and hydrogen plants.
