Johnson Matthey sites around the world strive to play a positive role in the communities within which they operate. Support is regularly given to community groups, local charitable initiatives and to employee efforts on behalf of good causes be they local, national or international. Johnson Matthey operations seek to support local community development efforts, particularly educational, medical and environmental initiatives. In addition to financial support, the company also supports local charitable or community organisations with ‘donations in kind’ for example by providing meeting rooms, the provision of resources and by lending or donating equipment.

Operations often hold open days and invite their neighbours and other members of the public to tour site facilities and meet management and employees. Where concerns are raised about any aspect of operations, Johnson Matthey sites endeavour to respond in a timely, fair and transparent manner. Normally sites will designate a specific individual as a contact point for local media and enquiries from the general public.
