Statement regarding Remuneration Consultants - Year Ended 31st March 2008

The Management Development and Remuneration Committee has appointed the Hay Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to provide specific advice during the year ended 31st March 2008 on remuneration matters and Watson Wyatt to provide advice on actuarial matters. The Hay Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP may also advise the company generally on aspects of executive and employee remuneration, typically on the implementation and ongoing operation of executive remuneration schemes. Watson Wyatt also provides actuarial services and advice to the company and the Trustees of the Johnson Matthey Employees Pension Scheme (JMEPS).
