Johnson Matthey was named the company with the best Sustainability and Stakeholder Disclosure in the FTSE 100 in London in November 2011
"The business case for sustainability is clearly laid out in this report, with targets and progress against them disclosed."
With this critique, Johnson Matthey was named the company with the best Sustainability and Stakeholder Disclosure in the FTSE 100 in London in November 2011. This prize was awarded to the company at the ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards, which recognise good governance disclosure in annual reports. (ICSA is the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.) Johnson Matthey's sustainability reporting and ambitious sustainability targets were commended by the judges.
The award is presented to the company that best "demonstrates both recognition and evidence that long term stakeholder interests and non-financial factors are critical and inextricably linked to the company's strategy, objectives and ultimately its sustainability."
Johnson Matthey was shortlisted as one of four finalists in a list that included other big FTSE 100 names such as GlaxoSmithKline. The company works to achieve the very highest standards of reporting and disclosure to its stakeholders and the award acknowledges its commitment to best practice in sustainability reporting and all aspects of governance.
